Tempel de Mexico Rotor Die-Casting

Tempel de Mexico adds Rotor Die Casting Capabilities

11/12/2007

Tempel has been aluminum die casting motor rotors in Chicago, IL  and Changzhou, PRC  for over five years. Operations have now expanded to Monterrey, Mexico where 5,000 square feet of space have been set aside for rotor die-casting in the newly expanded facilities. The aluminum die-cast rotors are manufactured primarily for AC Induction motors used in HVAC, hermetic compressor and pump markets.

Tempel is anticipating a market need and investing more than $2 million to be ready for it. A number of North American customers, whose own die-casting facilities are reaching the end of their useful lives, are looking for alternatives to continuing capital investments. Monterrey is helping meet this expected need with four horizontal die-casters-two 200-ton and two 400-ton units. These casters are ideal for motors ranging from the small three-piece sub fractional to the 48 frame size.

In addition, a 300-ton THT vertical rotor die-caster is being added to handle very large industrial motors, up to 18 inches diameter and 30 inches in height.

Tempel has customer orders and commitments with several manufactures to begin rotor die-casting and we expect to expand into 3 piece, pumps and general industrial motors in the coming months. Tempel has the ability to quickly respond to any request for add value features please refer to our webpage on Die-Casting for additional services and information on our capabilities.
