Tempel Names Timothy Taylor President, Chief Operating Officer 8/24/2009 CHICAGO (August 24, 2009) -- Timothy N. Taylor has been named President and Chief Operating Officer of Tempel Steel Company. He is a member of the executive committee and reports directly to Tempel's Chairman and CEO Vincent Buonanno. Before joining Tempel, Taylor was Managing Partner and Principal of Taylor Conway Partners, LLC, a management consulting company he founded in 2007. "Tempel Steel is an outstanding firm and renowned in the world as the leading independent supplier of electrical steel products to many of the world's finest electrical product producers," Taylor said. "Tempel achieved this status because of the skill, innovation and hard work of its employees, a group of which I am now proud to be a part." Prior to founding Taylor Conway Partners, Taylor was President of MacLean Vehicle Systems, LLC (MVS), a subsidiary of the privately held MacLean-Fogg Company. Over a ten year period under his leadership, MVS substantially increased its sales and profits and operated successfully in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Taiwan, Japan, China and India. Before MVS, Taylor held senior management positions at Huck International, Inc., now a unit of Alcoa, Inc. and a variety of management and technical positions at Ford Motor Company where he started his industrial career. "Tim brings decades of relevant experience to the Tempel position and we look forward to his contributions and leadership," Buonanno said. "Having had the advantage of consulting for Tempel and meeting many key colleagues here, as well as calling on many of our customers, Tim enters the position with excellent momentum and understanding of our business." Taylor holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master of Business Administration degree from Eastern Michigan University. He and his wife Susan live in Lake Forest, IL, and are the proud parents of five adult children. Tempel is the world's largest independent manufacturer of magnetic steel laminations for the motor and transformer industry.
