Our Custom Products
We take pride in leading where others "fear to tread;" successfully undertaking projects that others consider too difficult or even impossible.

If it can be done in terms of material, complexity and precision, the chances are that Tempel can do it. We have the breadth and depth of tool design expertise and manufacturing technologies to meet your requirements effectively and economically.

We have sought to develop a range of precision manufacturing processes and combined them with other Added Value operations to provide customers with a wide range of alternatives to the production of their lamination products.

We are frequently extending the boundaries of these technologies to the benefit of our customers by providing a single source for finished components.

Prototype through Production:

The advantage of using Tempel for your prototype order:
  • Design shapes and tolerance can be evaluated by tooling experts for best piece part/die performance.
  • Your prototypes will use the same electrical steel in use every day in large volume production.
  • Your prototypes will use the same production annealing process in use every day.
  • You should see compatible motor performance from "Prototype through Production."
Tempel has developed a variety of complementary manufacturing technologies in order to meet all customers' demands from samples and prototypes to high volume requirements, with economy and efficiency.

Laser cut prototype work:
  • Loose laminations (Quantities of 1 to 20,000 pieces)
  • Laser welded cores
  • Mechanically interlocked cores (Limited Quantities)
Laser cutting is ideal for thinner materials in small to medium volumes and may well be the economical approach for low volumes where stamping methods may not be the best manufacturing method.

Proto Stamping:
A process providing a stamped part up to 48" max diameter for preproduction quantities. Minimal tooling is required and usually can be included in the piece part price. [Quantities of 1,000 to production quantities.]

Soft Tooling: [D2]
A stamped part for smaller pilot production runs. Quantities may start at 20,000 pieces. Life of die 3,000,000 to 5,000,000 pieces, subject to the thickness and grade of steel.

Steel Die: [CPM 10V]
Stamped parts for improved piece part pricing. Life of die 5,000,000 to 8,000,000 pieces, subject to thickness and grade of steel.

Tempel designs and builds carbide dies for your high volume production requirements.
