As the latest Tempel global footprint, our Tempel Chennai facility in India facility operations in 2006. Chennai, India's fourth largest city, is often called the "Detroit of South Asia" because of its strength in the automobile industry and the country's rapidly expanding economy. With its convenient location along the Bay of Bengal, the India facility is primed for production. At full capacity, this 65,000 square foot facility (6,000 square meters) will house a dozen stamping presses and will use 20,000 metric tons of steel annually.
