Job Summary and Primary Functions
1.Management:

Steel & Tooling Purchasing Manager
Purpose of The Job
Responsible for the integration and optimization of steel and die procurement activities; this position will be deeply involved in developing the steel purchasing strategy to better leverage the global suppliers of electrical steel. Additionally, this position is responsible for taking on activities to help increase efficiencies and enhance results in demand/supply forecasting, inventory management and related general purchasing.
Job Summary and Primary Functions
1.Establishes processes consistent with the divisional needs and corporate strategy that enable the success of selected strategies to ensure a robust and flexible supply of raw material and die to meet the division’s customer requirements.
2.Ensures the execution of mill orders comply with overall supply strategy and optimize the inventory availability while minimizing the impact on working capital.
3.Develops goals, objectives, strategies, and metrics that support the divisions and corporate initiatives and ensure they are monitored and reported to the Senior Leadership Team at regular intervals.
4.Works closely with other departments to improve execution across all facets of purchasing and the supply chain.
5.Works closely with Quality and Technical resources to find improvements in our qualification process and manage supplier activities to ensure a comprehensive and well communicated trial process.
6.Works with Operations, Quality and Technical resources to ensure our claims process is thorough, quick, and efficient.
7.Accountable for owning and continually improving all Purchasing related processes.
8.Works closely with Sales to refine and improve the forecasting process to improve accuracy and investigate missed forecasts so adjustments can be made to minimize inventory build ups.
9.Works with all purchasing resources to develop and implement a supplier scorecard process so suppliers are aware of their performance and have objective feedback to continually improve their overall performance around quality, delivery, and service to all Tempel divisions.
10.Regular marketing analysis to identify the price trend, track the price gap between spot/future and make decision properly.
11.Maintain good relationship with all the mills.
12.Performs other duties as assigned.

The primary focus of this role is to help create a safer, more efficient facility while reducing cost.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
• Design and implement improvements to production equipment in pursuit of increased safety, quality and productivity.
• Lead and coordinate divisional manufacturing and equipment projects.
• Work extensively in a hands-on manner to locate and implement improvements.

•Maintain cost tracking documentation including budgets vs actuals and committed vs. projected.
•Assisting the Project Manager with administrative functions and processes.
•Generate project tracking documentation including timelines, costs, and risks, for multiple levels of stakeholders ranging from the internal project team to the corporate executive suite.
•Act as a primary point of contact to both internal and external participants.
•Generate and track necessary paperwork including legal, contracts, terms of agreement, and purchase orders.

Qualifications:

Job Summary:

•Facilitate employee orientation and onboarding for environmental health and safety training, updating training records in company database
•Identify environmental health and safety training needs, coordinate and schedule training sessions and evaluations under the direction of management
•Ensure company wide compliance with OHSA of Ontario
•Ensure health and safety communication boards are up to date, schedule Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings and inspections, follow-up on JHSC items and prepare/follow-up on work orders
•Assist and support special environmental health and safety projects, including Risk Analysis on machines/equipment, Job Task Analysis and Physical Demands Analysis
•Update and revise environmental health and safety policy manual and work instructions, develop communication plan and communicate to employees
•Organize NAOSH week, and other environmental health and safety events
•Responsible for the development and maintenance of environmental health and safety policies
•Complete and submit WSIB Form 7 for workplace illness/injury
•Manage WSIB claims, coordinate return to work (RTW) programs
•Coordinate annual file drills and emergency evacuation procedures
•Maintain first aid report and conduct accident/incident investigations as needed
•Request, track, and file WSIB clearance certificates and ensure contractor documentation is up to date
•Act as the primary contact for Ministry of Environment (MOE) and Ministry of Labour (MOL) visits, and ensure orders are completed and signed off
•Follow-up on pre-start reviews (PSRs)
•Maintain Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) program including waste manifests and other environmental obligations
•Track documentation for contractors and liaise with Supply Chain
•Active member of the JHSC, co-chair meetings at least every quarter
•Prepare meeting minutes for JHSC meetings and post in a timely manner
•Update workplace health and safety inspection form monthly and post on health and safety communication board, including following up on outstanding items
•Ensure safety data sheets (SDS) binders are up to date
•ISO 45001 and 14001 audit representative for any environmental health and safety related items
•Any other tasks assigned, including administrative functions
Qualifications:
•Undergraduate degree or college diploma with a focus on Environmental Health and Safety

Tempel is America’s largest manufacturer of magnetic laminations for the motor and transformer industry, dating back to 1945. With manufacturing facilities in USA, Canada, Mexico, China, and India we continue to be a fast-growing industrial manufacturer providing a full range of highly efficient transformer components at our facility in Burlington Ontario, where we have been since 1975.
Our primary products out of this location are Wound Distributed Gap Cores, Mitre and Butt Lap Laminations, Logs and Fully Assembled Cores in our Flat Stack Department, Steel Sales, Custom Slitting and a warehousing for Tempel Steel’s laminations.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Shipping & Receiving Team Leader who is looking to grow with the company and become the departments Supervisor. The perfect candidate will demonstrate their abilities to lead a busy shipping & receiving department working with various internal & external associates ensuring accurate on time deliveries.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Coordinate daily shipping & receiving requirements.
• Schedule freight and handle all freight issues with trucking companies, ensuring accurate customs procedures are followed for all out-of-country shipments.
• Update the status of inbound and outbound orders, and process customer and supplier return in the ERP system, with the operations team.
• Coordinates inventory transfers with related departments.
• Performs regular cycle counts, reconciles variances, and enters data in ERP.
• Receive, label & store purchased parts from other divisions.
• Oversee & ensure accuracy that all products are bar coded. • Ensue the shipping departments workers confirm & record the receipt of shipments, prepare items for shipping and load & unload trucks in a safe manner.
• Provides supervision and leadership that promotes teamwork, cooperation, and associate development.
• Maintains a clean and safe warehouse area by organizing floor space and recommending improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
• Post secondary education or equivalent experience.
• A current forklift license is required.
• Minimum 3-5 years of Supervisory experience working in a shipping/manufacturing environment (steel preferred).
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Knowledge of inventory management systems and shipping/receiving ERP.
• Ability to work independently, as required, and complete daily activities.
• Works cooperatively in teams, communicates clearly, and has effective listening skills.
• Experience operating Forklifts, Reaches, Shrink Wrapping and scales.
• Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication skills, along with strong mathematical capabilities.
